Inci Koc and Charlotte Dalcourt graduated from Ottawa\’s first complete homeopathy education program in classical homeopathy. After three years of intense study, including a very demanding clinical internship, Ms. Koc and Mrs. Dalcourt graduated from the Ottawa College of Homeopathy with the diploma: Practitioner of Homeopathic Medicine.
Homeopathy is a system of medicine that aims to help patients holistically, by healing there main health concerns while addressing their overall well-being in terms of their energy, emotional balance, and vitality. Recognizing an unfulfilled need in homeopathy education in the Ottawa/Gatineau region, Dr. Shahram Ayoubzadeh set out to fill this gap by creating the Canadian Homeopathic Institute in 1999. This Institute provided beginner as well as advance homeopathy education in the region and has had many cohorts of students.
In 2014, the Canadian Homeopathic Institute acquired three new members in its faculty: homeopaths Maria Reid, Gaela Nelson, and Mokhtar Akbari. This paved the way for the creating of the first complete homeopathy education and training program in Ottawa. This program includes a systematic study of homeopathy in all its parts: Principles and Methods, Materia Medica, Case-Taking and Analysis, Pathology, Medical Science, Homeopathic Research and a rigorous Clinical Internship program. This brought homeopathy education in Ottawa to a new level. In 2017, the Canadian Homeopathic Institute assumed its new name: the Ottawa College of Homeopathy. This College is committed to fostering the growth of the homeopathic profession and homeopathy education in the Ottawa region and providing this beautiful natural system of medicine to our community. It models its curriculum according to the standards of the College of Homeopaths Ontario, the regulating body of homeopathy in Ontario, and the Council for Homeopathic Certification in the United States.
